Marathon Running After Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstructionAuthor: Webmaster Date: 3/12/2008
A patient who underwent ACL reconstuction 10 years ago recently completed her third marathon run. The 50 years old female patient underwent ACL reconstuction by Mr. Johnson over 10 years ago but took up marathon running only recently. The knee completed the third marathion run including all the training without any problems or restrictions. Mr. Johnson said "With a sucessful ACL ligament reconstuction return to full sports without restriction should be attainable in most cases. The success in high level sports and stability is superior if the bone-patellar-tendon bone graft is used." |
