New Arthroscopic InstrumentAuthor: Webmaster Date: 1/3/2001
![]() "RF" technology, or Radio-Frequency ablation probes as they are known, are small instruments for the ablation of tissue during arthroscopic procedures. Rather than remove the tissue piecemeal by cutters the new probe uses radiowaves to ablate the tissue. This is hoped to result in quicker, easier and less traumatic surgical techniques. Mr. Johnson's advice in arthroscopic surgery is being used by two international manufacturing companies to develop a new probe for arthroscopic use. It is hoped that the new instruments will be ready for use in late 2001. Link: More orthopaedics |
