![]() Mr. Johnson recently attended the British Orthopaedic Association's annual Congress and was particularly interested in a seminar discussing MRSA. Incidents of MRSA, pathogens resitant to treatment by antibiotics, is an increasing problem for patients recovering in hospitals around the world.
Drug company Phizer has developed Zyvox in the fight against hospital derived infections. Zyvox is a member of the first new class of antibiotics to be introduced in the past 35 years. It is also the only oral antibiotic currently approved for the treatment of MRSA.
The seminar discussed at length the use of Zyvox in the treatment of MRSA and Mr. Johnson was impressed by the exciting prospects of this new developement in the fight against 'superbugs'
