![]() Recent clinical and technological advancements have seen the use of computer-assisted orthopaedic surgical (CAOS) tools in more routine clinical use. The American association of Orthopaedic Surgeon’s(AAOS) recently reported that such tools will soon become even more widely available. These tools are set to change the way surgery is performed with the promise of improved patient outcomes. The use of state of the art surgical navigation tools, 3d medical imaging and computer assisted surgical planning will assist the minimal Invasive Surgical advances which allow for incisions to be less than half of those made using conventional techniques. These new techniques are referred to as minimal invasive surgery and are set to become the future of joint replacement surgery. |
